Perhaps the OP didn't see anything larger than 26 online? But there are Miche Campy 8 cassettes in 13-28 and 12-28. Chances are they can be made to work, even if that means putting a little spacer block under the B stop.
I don't know why we need to see a photograph. It's a basic question.
The RD and the BCD of the crank might provide useful info in figuring out what is possible. It certainly can't hurt even though you are obviously right that a lot of the OP's questions can be answered without a pic. Plus the OP posted in C and V and we like seeing pics of old bikes. There might be other suggestions the hive might make for the OP if a pic is available.
