Alas, this 1977 frame was scratched and beat up and not always loved. Maybe because back then people used actual metal chains to lock their bikes up.
I suspect dad ordered a new frame and put these components on the new one. Then boxed the old frame.
Note Dad would order directly from Ernesto and check out the factory rear rack mounts on the rear seat stays.
I had the bike dipped for $60 and I’m trying to decide which direction to go, chrome, paint or maybe primer it in rust, new decals, and flat clearcoat like a “rat rod.”
If I do paint, it will not be blue for obvious reasons.
Nor Orange, because I already have one, green for the same reason.
Open to suggestions.
Well, it's an Italian classic, so you can't go wrong with red.......
