I took this off of a LeMond frame I recently bought to check it out. i think it’s a Sampson with a titanium spindle. I want to reinstall, but the distance from the cartridge bearing to the end of the spindle is about 2mm different from one side to the other. (The photos were taken at an angle so ignore the fact that the calipers don’t appear to line up with the part being measured.)

Can you tell me which way the longer end should face - DS or NDS?

The spindle measures 108 and I have a SunXCD 50.4 crank and a set of TA Pro Vis 5 rings on order 40/28. Should be fun.
