Cranks farther from frame after new bottom bracket install
I just replaced the square taper bottom bracket on my Surly Cross Check with Stronglight impact crankset. I switched from a Tange bottom bracket to an Omni Racer. Installation seemed to go fine, but after install and checking everything is torqued properly the cranks are visibly farther out from the frame than it was before. Can't think of why this would be. Both are 68x107mm JIS bottom brackets. The cranks don't look weirdly far out now, but when I look at pictures with the Tange I can see it was visibly closer to the frame before. Is something wrong or is this just what happens with these? I didn't measure the Omni Racer before install, but the Tange is 107mm for sure. Just visually guessing I'd say both sides are probably around 1mm farther out from the frame now.
