Could be a difference in spindle length, or a small difference in taper profile that is interacting with your crank differently than the original.

Or if the difference is all to the right (right arm further out, left further in) you have the BB upside down, or the BB cups are a different design than the Tange cups and center the cartridge differently.

1mm is not much.
