Progress while waiting for the spokes. Got the other Weinmann long reach brake and cleaned them both up.

The BB felt fine, but as long as I'm doing all this, might as well do it. My TA Specialties crank puller and peanut butter wrench showed up. Having the right tool for the job is marvelous.

While the cranks were off I did a deep polish. So many niggly little parts to jump off the bench and bounce into oblivion!

Bottom bracket was OK. Someone replaced one bearing cage...and not the other? Who does that? The old cage was loose and the bearings fell right out. I stuck the empty cage into my metal vise and gave the whole thing a little squeeze all at once. Bearings snapped back in nicely.
