Putting sealant in a tube will not work as well as sealant in a tubeless tire. The sealant will slowly leak into the space between the tire and the tube. You have two holes to patch. It didn't work very well. At least that was my experience.
I misspoke. I should have said that sealant in a bicycle inner tube has very little to do with preventing flats when you compare to a tubeless setup.
