Do you use this bike as a lock up bike in Boston? Are those tires tubeless? Why did you opt for something new?
Yup, I carry a mini-Kryptonite lock. Tires have tubes. And in terms of why new, I wanted something with excellent braking power for the inevitable short stops on my urban commute, something with wide tires for crappy roads (those are 650B x 2"), something that fit fenders. I've gone with vintage MTBs over the last few years and likely will again, but this one checks all the boxes. I bought it as frame and fork and built it up.
