You might want to give something like this a shot on the the brakes:

I find they allow for toe in, to reduce squeal/judder and he modern pad compound can improve braking.

Also they allow for a bit more clearance to get the larger tires out and once too have the pads adjusted to your liking, you can just replace the worn pads with new ones and not have to re-toe the brakes in the future.

I replaced the 610/750 brake combo on my early 60’s Paramount with modern 610’s and modern pads.

Braking went from almost non-existent/ scary to really good with no more squeal.
