Agree completely. Modern cranks look ghastly on classic steel frames. Even the first carbon Campag Record and Chorus cranks didn't look that good even if the shape was basically the hidden arm five bolt design.

Addendum: I'm watching Hell on Wheels (TdF film from First Run Features), and evidently that was shot during the high reign of Record Ergo 10 prior to the transition to CF cranks. Was there even a single team on Campy this year in the TdF?
