Anyway, if you were to build or buy your dream mountain bike, what are some features that your bike must have? Think of all areas-comfort, ease of use, geometry, suspension, color, shifting and breaking mechanism, tire size, etc.
I ask bc even though this is highly subjective, I'm curious as to things that are need to have vs. nice to have, in the opinion of other riders. IDK how much I wanna invest in my next mountain bike, and if I wanna build or buy. If it matters, I'm 5'2" and in my 50s, so I probably won't be doing crazy hill climbs and jumps or xc downhills, but I might....
My reality based dream bike would be Shimano XT Di2 12 speed (when that comes out), Trickstuff Maxima brakes, Fox Factory set up probably 140-160mm front and rear or maybe the new Cane Creek Tigon at the rear.on probably something like a Roost Titanium enduro frame with maybe some I9 custom wheels. Tire size I am pretty agnostic a wider tire is what I prefer but I am happy with 650b or 29er. Beyond that for any color bits probably 3DV or Rasta because I am a 90s MTB kid and those were the colors.
Realized I forgot dropper post and probably go with RS Reverb AXS or Magura Vyron 2 becuase wireless. Probably lean towards AXS because I can share batteries with another bike. Touch points would be Ergon except pedals would be Crank Bros Stamp 7s more than likely or probably Pembree or Yoshimura to mix it up. Bars and stem would be titanium probably from Roost or maybe TiCycles because Dave is awesome and his stuff is good without the high price tag but I would probably have it anodized by Agave Finishworks or something along those lines.
