I'm coming down the access road doing maybe 20 mph and I see this person on a20 year old mtg on the right shoulder. I do what I normally do and call out on your left. By the way this is a common curtesy here and everyone thanks you as you go by. So 50 ft away I call out, again maybe 20 feet away and then the guy decides he want to get on the other side of the street pulling right in front of me causing a collision. On the way down he grabs my bar and takes me down with him. To top it off he had one of those foolish helmet mirrors.
So, moral of the story? Please be aware of your surroundings and for crying out loud don't just use the foolish mirror to check your path. Thankfully we're both okay, although now that I'm home I have a huge raspberry on my right shoulder and my left hand is aching now that the adrenalin is wearing off.
Been using foolish helmet mirrors since at least 1981.
