I had a set of those textured fenders on my 720, secured at the brake bridge by a bolt into the threaded hole under the bridge, provided for that purpose.

It looked very cool, but unfortunately, the combination of the single point of securement and the texturing of the fenders created stress risers that led to cracks.

The fender failed earlier this season, so I'm currently running without fenders while I ponder what to do. I see my options as;
1) install a new, textured fender with reinforcement around the mounting point, if there's enough clearance for the reinforcement
2) Install a new, textured fender using the wrap-around mount to secure it to the brake bridge
3) Install a new, untextured fender, with or without reinforcement, using the cool under-the-bridge mounting point
4) Install new, stainless steel fenders with or without reinforcement, using the cool under-the-bridge mounting point
5) continue to ride without fenders.
