Re-did the frayed reinforced cotton tape on the steel drop bars on my elderly Sekine with some modern "foam" tape.
Uggh! Not what I was expecting. Overly thick, and a magnet for whatever particles are around.
After a ten mile ride with it, far less than impressed. The geometric changes introduced with that thickness made my hands ache approaching the six mile mark.

What are people using on their classic/vintage road type bikes these days?
I've looked around for the reinforced vinyl that I'm familiar with from decades ago, and it seems no one carries it anymore.
Heck, I'd even settle for reinforced cotton tape...
Still have a bit of looking around to do yet.
I'd like to keep it cheap- there's no way I'm putting $100.00 leather on a bike that cost me a lot less that that price.
