I usually keep the tire till the threads of the casing are showing. If I'm doing a important ride where I rather not chance a flat, then I have replaced them sooner.

I have the little divots in my GP5000's. But only a few are in the wear line of my tread. And it didn't take long for the threads to show after the divots were gone on the wear line.
