Your logic doesn't track. That bikes tend to come with plastic saddles is a big reason why most people who ride on leather saddles are familiar with their plastic counterparts.
If any logic does not track, it is when someone dogmatically advocates for a saddle known to be uncomfortable until the user adapts, requires a specific break-in procedure, needs ongoing maintenance and upkeep, must be protected from inclement weather, is heavy and expensive.
If the Brooks saddle were introduced today, the sales reps would be laughed out of the trade show.
