On the topic of not leaving well enough alone, a new, used Blackburn front rack showed up on my doorstep this morning (thanks John!)

Since the fenders are mounted to the rearward eyelets, I was assuming the rack would mount to the front ones. Well you know what they say about assumptions...

The rack was angled up with the mounting holes lined up with the forward eyelets:

They were obviously designed to mount to the rear eyelets.

But that's where the fenders go. Also, the fork prevents the rack from mounting flush to the dropouts.

Then I noticed there were spacers included in the unopened hardware bag:

One issue sorted. Now for the fenders. I need to get a longer M5 bolt, but the fender stay supports will fit behind the spacers.

So I got both supports installed, but getting the whole thing back together is not a job to be done in the dark. Tomorrow is another day.
