I guess some bikes have only one eyelet and it's usually the rear one IIRC. I suppose I could modify the rack stay to fit the front eyelet. Shorter is easily than having to make it longer. We'll see how this goes.

But you know what really gets my goat every time!? Why does the shorter M5 bolts that came with the rack fit nicely through the spacers, but the new, longer M5 bolts do not...REALLY!!? I had to drill them out a few thou. Sheesh.

But as a bonus, the fender supports fit inverted and tucked behind the rack stay.

So of course while it's apart again I had to treat the fenders.

I had to take the rear fender off too because on my 2 hour D&R Canal ride yesterday I noticed the rear fender rattling. I stopped for a rest and lunch in Frenchtown and discovered my "spring-a ma-jig had fallen off. I wasn't about to backtrack and try to find it, so while I was out buying longer rack bolts I picked up another kit. This time with a jam nut and lock washer.

Fenders came out nice. Waiting for paint to dry is not my favorite activity.

If anyone is curious, and I feel sorry for you if you are, I weighed the rear one before and after. 2 coats of this stuff comes in at 8g.
