to contrast, the same rims with Rene herse 28mm Chinook pass, took some work but did not need levers to get first side over the rim.

Thoughts
If these had fit I would not really have trusted the tire to use for any distance beyond a walk from home, until I had tried a "field" test to see if I could get it off and on for a flat fix. Based on install and removal in shop, I really doubt if it could pas the field test (I added a metal lever and a var tire jack to my carry on bike kit)
while my rim contributed to making the install difficult, I am thinking that the tubeless ready part of the tire contributed more, I am really hoping that manufacturers keep making separate tube and TLR models and not combine, especially as I like supple tires and my understanding from is the TLR tires have stiffer sidewalls
Interesting. I've had no problems putting the GKS on or taking it off, though it's a little stiffer than the old Paselas.
