After 2 days of 97 degree (115 heat index), some storms came through and cooled things down. Got out for 53 miles after work. Getting dark before 8pm now.
Didn’t get far before waiting (forever!) for the Purple Line train headed to The Loop.
Glencoe and southern Lake County got hit hard by the storms. Tons of small to medium branches down along with some biggies. Power and tree crews were out in force.
This pond up in Lake County seems to have a Great Egret “on duty” when ever I ride by. It ate a frog right before I took this pic.
Skies were “non-committal” - got home dry.
The list of folks responsible for funding a key connector bridge that opened up some very cool riding loops - hats off!
