Strictly speaking, Ocana rode the Speedwell up a few climbs in the 1973 TdF. Given that he won that Tour by 15 minutes or so (over Thevenet), I suspect he would have won even if he had done those climbs on his standard Motobecane-badged bike. (I have no doubt someone else actually built it, but I don't know who Ocana used. Maybe someone here does?)

Of course, that didn't keep Speedwell from advertising the heck out Ocana's ride . . . .
