Here in Tokyo we are inundated with tourists. There are zillions of them. Japan is an interesting place, very clean and safe, and the yen is very weak, so we are seeing record numbers of visitors.
However, bike tourists, while much more common than before, make up only a tiny percentage of visitors. The bigger issue we have is with tourists using rental E-scooters. These scooters have license plates, and therefore must be ridden on the roads, and obey the same traffic rules which apply to motor vehicles. Tourists are riding them on sidewalks and in parks, and the police are having a field day writing tickets. Almost every day I see the police writing a ticket to someone on one of these scooters.
