Make sure the belt has proper tension according to Gates (or whomever your belt manufacturer is) and make sure the hub is properly adjusted.

If your belt is rubbing on something maybe remove the guard or add spacers if needed or make sure it isn't bent. However you might also check with the OEM and see what they say on it.
