Huh. I was born at Daniel Freeman. I'll bet your grandfather built the first apartment I ever lived in.

Regarding the building boom in PV, I always get a chuckle when I think about something... annecdotal, but funny. The Palos Verdes Concours de Elegance used to be held at the big golf course and country club. I work part time at a car museum and I'd attend the show to steward a few of the cars we'd bring. At that time, most of the housing develpments that surround the golf course were under construction. Parking for the concours was divided into general parking for ten or fifteen bucks, or valet parking for around fifty.

General parking was down a construction road, down a makeshift ramp, on a loose dirt field that had been cleared for home construction. Valet parking was on the golf course. I'm in whatever rando Ford I was driving at the time, in line for parking behind a variety of Rolls Royce, Ferraris, Lambos, classics, etc. I watched the guy in a Silver Shadow in front of me have to make a decision for general or valet. He glanced to the right at the general parking, and saw rows of cars parked on loose dirt, while a 458 Ferrari had beached itself on the makeshift ramp. He glanced to the left at the valet area, and watched as a valet driver drifted someone's M5 across the grass with a huge smile on his face.

He made the wise decision, turned around and decided to find another activity for the day.
