Still a paper map user here as I prefer seeing the "big picture" as opposed to tiny electronic screens. Basically, cycling and electronic devices don't mix for myself. There are many people who aren't tethered to phones/computers all day long. Never will be, never need to. When I got my first smartphone I had unlimited data and at first it was like a neat toy as it could be used for navigation. But after a while. be it riding or driving, it was just more distracting than useful or practical. Hell, it's eyes on the road(wide open spaces) where they belong. With paper maps I can take a mental snapshot of a large area before I go somewhere and I've always made my way just fine. With a tiny electronic screen, it's just not the same. It's like looking at a large Picasso painting in person as opposed to looking at it in very small sections at a time through a camera image. It's not even remotely the same experience.
