I spent some time debating what rack to use and settled on an old Pletscher. The fender stays being so low though, it ended up really close to the rear caliper, and even then the angle was less than ideal. I played around with making a set of intermediate brackets to raise it up in back, but I ended up modifying the rack by making the stays 2 inches longer with some 5/16" T6 aluminum extrusions, tig welding and a bunch of elbow grease to burnish. It's not perfect but...
I feel like the angle of a rack makes or breaks the look.
I thought about grinding off the rivets that the stays pivot on at the top and chucking them up in the lathe, but they aren't super true to start with so...
and I finished with a support for the front.
