The dosing parameter space for exercise is multi-dimensional and not very well explored, so coming up with equivalent doses of cycling and resistance training is pretty hard. Therefore, don’t really see the choices as “wrong.”
As for the actual resistance program chosen, “newb gains” are real.
Newb gains are definitely real, just based on my own experience. I guess I wasn't looking at it from that perspective.
