My wife has a Cannondale Synapse Neo 1 Electric Bike with a Bosch Active Line Plus 250 W motor. Lately, it has been making some disconcerting noises. I think it has a 2 year warranty, but we have owned it for over 3. The instructions basically say you will void the warranty and probably will get killed or seriously injured even if you just open up the case to take a look. I also read they put silicon aquarium sealant in the screw heads to keep people from tampering with it.

So, given all of that, does anyone do DIY repairs on these things? I got it at REI. Their service department is a bit of an amateur hour. Not that I would be any better ....
