Have you called Garmin Support and ask them about the issue you are having with your radar?
I have the Varia that is only the radar with no light. TMK, I can't control it's on and off with the Garmin Edge. I turn it off after every ride. I'm imagining that you must have the Varia Radar that has lights and can be controlled from the Edge.
If you don't tell annoy them with support calls about it, then they are less likely to have this on a high priority to fix.
