All very consistent with not being able to define healthy weight, sex, structure of the sport, and various other windmills Don Cornxote is tilting at.
BTW, MVDP is looking especially extra gaunt and the headlines are shouting it out.
I'm also recalling reading about a young male rider early this season who was rail thin throughout his youth then put on quite a bit of weight (like 10kg) and started getting results as well as puberty. Not a body change that led it, he changed his diet and approach and his body followed then the results with them. I wanted to say it was a Uno-X rider with GT stage wins but I cruised the 2024 records and it didn't leap out. The outcomes are different for individuals, body types, and competitors. I doubt we'll see another GT winner a la Big Mig. Who knows? Maybe long TTs will get cool again.
Great post, especially the implied hope that the Grand Tour organizers will reintroduce ITT's of 50 kilometers or so. Happy to watch one; wouldn't want to ride one.
