And I'll add, the amazing thing about modern derailleur systems, is how well even *really cheap* Shimano systems shift.

Regarding IGH cost: Was it always that way, a premium price over derailleur systems? I think not as much in the past, meaning '60s, '70s, even perhaps '80s.
Or a car driver who only knows automatic boasting to the manual car driver that they've mastered the ersatz "downshift" gears on an automatic transmission automobile.

I note that in another thread here a member remarked that they had moved on from the Alfine 11 due to the messy oil discharge and change. So, it's far, very far from the placid paradise portrayed here.

How many times have I serviced this 8-year-old RD which has seen the most miles and been installed on four separate folders? Once. Once in eight years. How long was the service? Half an hour.

Sólo una vez en ocho años, vato. No mames.
