I just found the "VROOM VROOM" sound strange. It makes me think the chain is rubbing on the freewheel body, which made me question the chain compatibility. But maybe it's just the sound of the new chain rubbing on worn parts.

Have you checked the bearing in thew rear hub? We had a very noisy single speed the other day and sounded link it was in the crank but removing the chain it was quiet. Ended up needing new bearings at the rear hub,
