Sounds like the seller wants about the same as what they bought it for new. It's a six soon to be seven year old bike that has components on it that are several versions old. Not that the age or the version of those components is any notable difference in function, but it should make a difference for the price of the bike.
Not knowing your location, or the availability of bikes in your area, it's really hard to say.
In the USA, you can get a new and very nice and slightly more than entry level bike for that money. Don't spend a wad on your first bike not knowing what kind of road bikes you tend to like.
