We want to finish in 25 days, which is not competitive, but not too slow. We both have to get back to our families and our work. As my friend lives in Germany, and I live in Japan, we have to arrange our returns carefully. We’ve added 7 days (32 days in total) in case of illness, breakdowns, or other issues. Luckily, I have family in New Mexico who can pick us up at the finish (should we get that far). From there we go to LA, and then fly to our respective homes.
