Brake lever compatibility with modern rim brake calipers

Hi All, I’m updating an older Repco Victory Tri-A road bike. The braking capacity of the original brakes (Dia Compe BRS Edge) is pretty average. I’d like to upgrade to more modern rim brake calipers but am somewhat confused about lever compatibility. The bike runs 11 speed down tube shifters (Dura-ace SL-BSR1) and has 105 cranks and derailleurs. I’d like to install modern Shimano 105 rim brake calipers but don’t know which drop bar levers have an appropriate pull ratio. Any suggestions? I’d prefer not to use STI levers on this bike.
Alternatively, are there any other good performing (moderately priced) rim brake calipers and levers that should I consider, these could include bull-horn handle bars and bar end brake levers? All help and suggestions are appreciated.
