Planning a (mostly non-riding) trip to Chile this December/January. Wife and daughter don't ride. Of the two weeks that we'll be there, they want to take a ~4 day excursion to Rapa Nui (a.k.a. Easter Island). If I had my druthers, I'd stay on the mainland and go riding while they check out the Moai (that's the famous stone heads). So, either out of Santiago or nearby (or maybe as starting as far south as Pucón?), I'm looking for a place with good road (or gravel, not MTB) routes and a place to rent a decent bike. I found one place in Pucón that rents gravel bikes, but not much else. Also, I know Trek runs excursions down in Patagonia, but these are longer than 4 days and more elaborate than my taste. If I had a bike, a hotel or an airbnb, and a route out of town to some rideable roads, I'd be all set.

Anybody been riding down there who might have some tips?
