Significantly Shorter Cranks = Going Up One Frame Size?
I am 5'5, and my legs are short in proportion to my height. I was on the cusp between small and extra small road bike frames. Because of my short legs, I went with extra small frames. Until last year, I rode with 170mm cranks because that's what the bikes came with. I switched to 160mm cranks. They are better, but it resulted in me needing to push back the saddle about as far back as it will go. I am considering replacing my road bike. I would like to get even shorter cranks, either 155 or 150mm. Since I'm assuming that even shorter cranks would push my seat back even further, should I size up and get a size small?
