You're absolutely right, summer in SF is usually Sept and Oct, it's the strength and duration that is not normal. For some reason I decided to ride yesterday at 1:30 and it got up to 105. Felt even hotter, and I had my worst reaction to heat I've had in quite a while, got dizzy and nauseated part way through. It felt like riding in an oven, the air was incredibly hot and dry. I've ridden in 100+ temps before and though it's not fun, this was borderline scary what happened yesterday. Definitely not going out in that kind of heat again any time soon.
Sorry to hear about your hot weather ride symptoms but glad it wasn't worse. Heat stroke/sunstroke is no joke - it can mess you up for long time.
