Normally, I wouldn’t hesitate but I decided to go back to school so both time and money are tight. Unfortunately two hours in the car and a tank of gas isn’t inconsequential. Id like to learn all I can, check around and see if it’s a fair price. I don’t have the spare dough to not be careful.
Secondly, I’m very interested in the early production of the Allezs. They are one of my favorite bikes and Id like to learn all I can. Which is proving to be a fun adventure and a frustrating challenge.
Make sure you read the Retro Grouch blog I posted, it is very telling of the quest we're on. There's another deeper dive on another forum where Bryant Bainbridge weighs in but its not much more helpful.

If you search here, Jim addresses some of this more as well but less of it is about Allez's than Sequoia and Expedition.

Checking prices especially now days is a very fickle thing, everybody has a different yardstick, I don't usually go by past prices they are not reliable and are usually too small of sample anyway, time, location, etc.

Condition is highly subjective and I'll admit this one seems rough but I have only ever seen one or two of these exact red ones, they are rare IMO.
