I own a house-brand Macalu Cirrus from Excel Sports, Boulder CO. At the time, late90s/early 00's, Excel was Merlin's largest dealer in the West (I think, anyway). This frame welded in Mass. Some characteristics of Extralight (with a slightly shorter headtube). Assembled with a triple and long cage RDer, it has been a 'go-to' bike for memorable mountain and distance riding. Probably due for an overhaul.
Is a titanium worth a premium over steel or Al or CF? Only one's buttocks can answer. Tires get much or most of the vibration - wheels, fork, post, stem, gloves, shorts, riding style each play a part. For 'quality' framesets, materials influence weight/stiffness, important in some applications.
N+1, baby. Try it. Give it a nice cockpit and expensive tires. You will like it, ... if it
fits.
Curved seatstays
1" chainstays
Oversize tubes.
Real Design fork dates frameset to the time of the Litespeed takeover/merger with Merlin.
Old school, but still smooth. Buy nice tires, go fast.
