This past Saturday I went on a nice 30-miler up near the Tennessee/Kentucky Border. Started in Cross Plains, TN, and had about 1,650 feet of elevation. Even with my rear derailleur needing some adjustment, it was a gorgeous ride through extremely rural, hilly farmland right as fall temperatures are (slowly) beginning to arrive. I even brought along a cheap little half-frame film camera to take some nice grainy photos.
Only spent about a total of 2 miles on roads with cars, the rest was completely empty (besides the occasional farmer out in the fields on some sort of machinery). I highly recommend the Cross Plains Loop for anyone who lives in the area.

The route, about 40 minutes north of Nashville

Beautiful blue skies throughout

My Bianchi held up admirably despite some shifting issues

It must be tobacco-drying season, because dozens of barns had it hanging up.

A pumpkin farm!
