Thanks. What do you mean by thrashed spines? The freehub body splines seem OK, could just be the lighting and the photo.

Lets say it doesn't need replacing, hypothetically. How do i tighten that nut properly?? Is there a name for this type of design so i can at least look up the proper installation?
