The colnago master x light is the lightest of the colnago steel frames. The previous colnagos like the mexico and the master with their columbus dt 15v aren't that lightweight, you pay a huge price for a brand . Let's not forget Rossin, Somec, Moser and Fondriest who also produced nice lightweight frames.
I've never really been to concerned about weight for the most part. If you want to make up the difference in a vintage bike you are better off riding off the middle age belly belt around your waist or skipping lunch for a week or two to make up the 3-5 pound difference.
