All good ideas and of 22 bicycles I have a kickstand on one of them. However when touring on The Mule (1987 Schwinn Voyageur), loaded like a pack mule, I carry a DIY “click stand” sort of thing. I use it primarily in campgrounds where I want my bike near my tent and that ground can be uneven or soft. Also, when fully loaded that lump is heavy and I want to support it by the top tube and the two wheels, a secure triangle. My DIY stand has PVC plates on each end to hold the top tube well and to rest well on soft ground. And it’s tube sections are the same length as my tent poles so it all packs together.

Otherwise I can find thousands of places to lean the bike when stopped.
