Thanks Mike. I thought about doing just that. I also am giving consideration to just abandoning all running until the event and just focus I'm getting extremely fitness in the bike and swim, hoping that will spill over into my ability to run race day. Maybe I'll take long "fast" or uphill walks twice weekly. I think my calf can handle that. Then, come race day I will hope to have enough fitness to knock out the 13 miles maintaining a "zone 2" heartbeat. I did 8 miles, slowly, in zone 2 about a month ago, and I could have gone much more.

Yet another challenge is that I upped my swims to about 1.5 miles every session. This has left my bilateral labra aggravated and inflamed. My left shoulder labrum is slightly torn, and I expect my right is also. I definitely enter a "leave them alone, don't swim" area. So now I have to watch the extent of my swim training. I've always had tight shoulders and I think I may have damaged them a bit doing low-bar squats for the years. Freaking age.... Any advice you have will be well appreciated!
