marcus, unless I am mistaken, the crankset bcd's (the space between the bolt holes) on both those bikes are probably too large to fit a 26, but I could be wrong, the specifics would have to looked into.
Then there is moving the front derailleurs down, and if that is easy to do and can it be moved down far enough.
