Any moment now, one of the grammar nazis who seem to love participating this thread will chime in and say, "technically in the English language the word slave means you don't get paid, therefore technically 12 cents an hour is not technically slavery."
I’ll save them the embarrassment my noting that they would be wrong. “Slave labor” includes work that is coerced and inadequately compensated.
