Speaking of French racks, here's one I got years ago, thrown in with a LeFol fender purchase. It's light at 400 grams, sorta-kinda tubular, maybe should be called 'faux-tubular'? Just thin sheetmetal wrapped around to look like a tube, not even welded or otherwise joined where the edges meet. Brazed joints, but with no mitering, just covering the cut ends with enough brass to (mostly) hide the lack of miters.

Very clever manufacturing to make something this light out of thin stock, this cheaply, while remaining strong enough. How do they bend those faux-tubes without the circular cross-section collapsing or kinking? See how the fender tab is made of the same sheet of steel? I'd like to see the tooling they used to make this. Would only pencil out economically if they made a bunch of them with that tooling.
