Give this a try. It wont hurt anything. Spray the entire bike down with ArmourAll Tire Foam (band name do not subsitute). The brand name armourall will not hurt any of the plastic or rubber/butyl components and even help lubricate small parts like your nipples and cables. Then WIPE IT ALL OFF!
