I've got the trail version of Blur 4, with a 120mm Fox fork. I can confirm that it's a very efficient peddler for a FS MTB, I've even raced it to a fairly high OA result in a chunkier gravel race before. Tires are a big deal for efficiency, like Eric said...my "fast" tires are Conti Race King Protections.
As far as lockouts, the only lockout I ever use is for the fork. Even then, it's only for road climbs and sprint finishes. When building my bike, I opted for Fox factory fork and shock with the adjustable compression, but not the remote lockouts. These flex-stay XC bikes peddle so well, that a lockout isn't even needed for the shock IMO.
Good to hear! With my upgrades, I think this bike is going to be just around 3 more lbs than my gravel bike. The bike comes with Vittoria Mezcal tires (2.4), so I'll see if those feel too sluggish.
